Holy f**k! I didn’t see this one coming! The next James Bond film is called “Spectre”.

For those not in the know; SPECTRE was the villainous organisation that was constantly trying to trigger World War 3 in the early Bond movies and pretty much every super-villain that 007 was sent out to stop was a member of the SPECTER hierarchy. At the top of this criminal network was the shadowy figure known only as “Number One”, who, after a multi-film build-up, personally introduced himself to Bond (and the audience) during You Only Live Twice as Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

Now, the last anyone saw of Blofeld was when Roger Moore dropped him down a chimney, and SPECTRE was never mentioned again because of an ongoing squabble over ownership of the name. During Daniel Craig’s tenure as Bond, an underworld organisation identical to SPECTRE was hinted at but, disappointingly, named “Quantum”. More disappointingly, despite being really rather good, Skyfall ignored the previous two films and veered away from the narrative that had been laid down. There was no mention of Quantum or of Bond’s investigation into it, as there had been across Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. I was hoping for an introduction to the new Blofeld, or at least a hint of fluffy Persian, but all we got was that rather fruity fellow who liked monologuing about his rat-killing grandmother.

But here we are with Bond #24 being named SPECTRE and money being put on Christoph Waltz to play the role of uber-villain Blofeld.

Screw Star Wars. THIS I am excited about!

The shape created by the bullet-hole is enough to have me geeking out.

im being honest here i don't watch you for the nude women (though i like those), the story lines (these too), the interesting settings and characters (ditto), or your unique brand of art( ...Ditto Ditto or something)

i honestly watch you and read your comics entirely for context on the little hamster jokes at the end.

I love that little bastardCURSE YOU!

I always thought the evil organisation in Bond was SMERSH, not Spectre.

Admittedly, Spectre does sound more badass...

Hey, do you take commissions? Not huge, overly-detailed ones, just short, straightforward comics, like you usually make.

I had fun thinking of more variants. Lightsaber caltrops! UV-range "invisible" lightsabers installed at neck level in a hallway! Fifty-foot-long lightsabers!

Or, for once, having a curved blade so that it's a *saber* rather than a foil or rapier. It's odd enough that the fighting styles seem to emphasize slashing when the blades are so good for stabbing and armor is no concern.

Dude I agree with you for too many reasons - first, the lightsaber blade itself doesn't actually exist until it exits the emitter at the end of the crossbar (in this case, the hilt normally). Therefore, if someone struck the metal between the three blades they'd shear through the crossbar.  Secondly, the crossbar on a claymore can be used as a grip, and as you mentioned, not only can you not use it, but you need to actively avoid it.  Third - swords slide on each other at very oblique angles.  Apparently, the people designing the new movie have not heard of "Saber Lock" - sabers stick together, they don't slide.  The best part is that in the last 25 whatever years of book lore, the sabers are already cooler - multiphase sabers that elongate, sabers w/o toggles that require telekinetic activation, etc... No one is more lore nerdy than an SW nerd (okay maybe Trekkies and Warhammer :D) and these moviemakers really picked the wrong crowd to do this to lol.

Finally - EPIC series comic, and I LOL'd hard.

BTW a saber is a virtually lossless closed energy circuit, not a plasma jet ;)

Samuel L. Jackson, wanted a purple sabre and refused to accept his role as Mace Windu unless he got his purple sabre. So they gave him a purple sabre.

Aren't Sith sabres typically red? While Jedi sabres are blue and green?

That is just ugly rumor and Sithist, ( like racist but sithy ist like... hmm.. yea) I deny Red is a sith color and green or blue are Jedi colors... never mind what color my car is.

But... in all the movies all the bad guys have red sabres and the good guys have non-red sabres.
