Description
I’m doing something that I told myself I wouldn’t; planning out a fan-made Fallout game.
I told myself I wouldn’t do it for two reasons. One: I have a ton of other projects I should be doing, and two: I’m almost always of the opinion that you should work on your own intellectual properties rather than someone else’s.
But, damnit; I just love the Fallout universe!!! And once I started jotting down scenario ideas and drafting game mechanics, I couldn’t stop.
The wasteland I’m putting together is the South Eastern corner of England (naturally), and most of the hidden narrative (the stuff you learn from old computer terminals and the like) focuses on the aftermath of the conflict between the European Commonwealth and the Middle Eastern States, along with the lead-up to the 2077 firestorm.
The “present day” narrative (that which unfolds through conversations with the game’s characters in the year 2278) tells a story of conflict between The Party (remnants of the Government), The Church (cultists) and the “free” people of Tunbridge Wells.
Don’t hold your breath for this project ever actually seeing completion. I’m sure I’ll get distracted by something else before it ever gets close.
Even if it does reach a finished state; don't expect a 3D epic. It'll be a simple 2D game.

10 years later, the dream would come (somewhat) true in the form of Fallout: London, hahaha
(If you're reading this, I wonder if you realize I'm a fellow team member? :P)
