I never buy a comic if the cover has been drawn by a high-profile 'superstar' artist and the interior is by someone else. If the creators have felt they need to try and dupe people into buying it, it probably isn't worth my time (or precious shelf-space!).

I wont buy a new comic series if its packaged like that. I want to check into the art and make sure the story isn't tripe. I really like this piece and agree with it, happy comic day!.. or at least I get mine on Wednesdays.

Cover vs. Interior quality is the primary reason I ran screaming from Marvel/DC and started buying independent comics. DC's by far the worst offender - half the Vertigo books (back when I was buying comics on a regular basis, anyway) were basically "Covers by Rembrandt; Interiors by Timmy, Age 5."

This is so very true. The only thing that rivals this crime is a comic with amazing artwork/character designs and a horrible script.

Haha, while I've never seen as drastic an example as that, I do know what you mean. :nod: Though sometimes the covers are crap and the inside is awesome, which makes you feel like you found a diamond in the rough. :)

Sometimes a quality drop happens even with the same artist, when he had time do draw a nice cover, but had to rush on the content...
