"Because it's different then us. Because it's from outer space. What more do you want from me?!"
After watching John Carpenter's "The Thing" again; I just know the remake/prequel is gonna suck, simply because it won't have MacReady (Kurt Russell) in it.
Part of me considered the possibility that "The Thing" was an alien that was infected by some form of contagion and chose the most remote area of Earth as a passive form of quarantine. I thought the prequel would provide some insight to this question but it was more of a glorified monster movie without the psychological tension.
I personally liked both films. But that's because it's also my kind of monster film. The kind that you don't see the monster, but at the same time it's on screen almost the entire time, and you don't know who's infected until it bursts out and starts hugging faces... and then trying to assimilate someone... while trying to kill everyone else in the room at the same time... that is until someone bursts in with a flamethrower and ruins the whole party.
I actually found a cancelled script for a suggested sequel called The Return of The Thing. Let me tell you... IT KICKS ASS!! Only reason it was cancelled is cause it would cost too much... and I recently found out that the prequle actually used more than enough to make the script come true... RAGE!!!
If you want to read it just message me, i'll send it to ya.
