Santa doesn't use a sled anymore. He uses several cloaked hover-dropships with platoons of these jet-powered helpers (like strike teams), and they deploy at every city they stop off at to deliver the gifts.

Afterwards, they pull out quickly and they move on to the next city. With billions of people to service every year over a period of 24 hours, moving from one time zone to the next, it's the only way to do it. =D
