Yes! And I like how some of the naysayers have profile pics with the transparent hair. Don't like it? Then you don't like it. I don't like seeing preggo girls when I'm browsing Warhammer 40k art, but I'm not going around trolling it, either!
I've always had a problem with people drawing transparent hair. Same thing with the constant red noses in those 'realistic' digital paintings. As someone who has long bangs, I'm completely in agreement.
People who complain about the hair thing know fuck-all about manga-derived styles. In case you haven't noticed, reality-sticklers, those huge honking eyes are the most important part of a character's expression. Unless you deliberately want to make the character seem mysterious, it's a GOOD idea to show as much of them as you can all the times. IT'S A CARTOON. CARTOONISTS FUDGE REALITY ALL THE TIME TO SUIT THEIR NEEDS. Next time you're gonna watch Tom & Jerry and complain that cats don't stretch that way.
I don't get that complaint, despite hearing it more than once. It's a simplistic way of drawing "wisps" and shifting bangs, plus it doesn't force the artist to only draw ponytails & short hair, or cover up half a character's face at all times.
