Jerry Nelson, best known as the voice and pupeteer of Sesame Street's numerically-obsessed vampire, The Count, has died:

He did a great deal of work with Jim Henson and company, so, anyone who A) was a child, and/or B) ever watched TV, will most likely have seen or heard him at some point.

Due to the fact I suck at math, The Count obviously failed me on that front, but damn did I get some good tips on maniacal laughter.

"AAAH AAAAH AAAAH AAAAH................twelve."

Ah, Count Von Count...founder of Old Clan Sesame. Once split off from Clan Tremiere, he used his knowledge of Thaumaturgy to invent the clan discipline of Enumeration. He can mathematically derive any magical ability.

Here's hoping they can find someone to fill the cape. Jerry Nelson, you will be missed.

I remember not understanding why the Count could never get to "10" 7 8 9ha ah ah, WHAT?!? I never got it as a kid, and i heard the joke " why is six afraid of seven?" and yeah i thought it was funny, but it wasn't untill a few months ago I connected it to why the Count kept laughing, "Seven eight Nine" I couldn't stop from laughing!! it so sad i didn't connected it sooner :(

Sad about getting older, as we lose a lot of those familiar faces and voices we loved growing up.
