KONY hype... what the whole story?DISCLAIMER
Some people are accusing me of being against or hampering the KONY 2012 movement with this journal.  I am actually for it and one of the ways I am supporting it is by creating discussion about Joseph Kony and the LRA as they ask in the video.

Andrew Marr's History of the WorldProbably the most engaging and interesting history series I've seen in a while, thanks in no small part to the titular Mr Marr's entertainingly sardonic narration.

Farewell EddI was a fan of Edd Gould's work back in 2008 and made my first fan art of his animated short, Zanta Claws II
We never met (well almost in Comic Con 2010... if I knew about it earlier), but he was a funny guy and that is deeply reflected in his animated shorts and comics.
My last artwork I did for him was a commissioned piece which my favourite Eddsworld fan art:  
This was perhaps the hardest for me to paint as there were many characters involved but I guess it paid off and he was happy with it and I think it was
a good gift as any that I could give to him.
It was devastating for me just to learn of his passing on 25th March this year. My condolences goes to his family and close friends. His legacy will live on with us, the fans.

Orcs of MaineEveryone's used to politicians badmouthing each other and highlighting flaws in their opponents to try and belittle them in front of the eyes of the public.
In my little corner of the world, things like fraud and corruption regularly bubble to the surface, usually by way of the media. The police investigate and the offending politician is, more often than not, destroyed. Possibly literally, as they're not usually heard from again, but more likely because the parties distance themselves from the offending moron, who was stupid enough to misbehave while the public gaze was upon them.
The parties use incidents like that to discredit their rivals and question their abilities to govern.
Occasionally an irrelevant element of a politician's personal life will crop up as the focus of a jibe, but it's never seen as anything more than that. Using, say, a harmless hobby to try and smear someone in Parliament would be seen as monumentally petty.

World War 3 may just be months away, with much of the middle east currently being blown apart by missiles and the locals setting their neighbours on fire, but the real news is that the Twinkie, the USA's primary contribution to world cuisine, could cease to be.

Paramount has shut down pre-production on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot over "script problems".
Translation; Paramount realised that if they continued down the path Bay was going, fans would probably burn their studios to the ground.
With luck (and a dollop of common sense) the project will be shelved altogether and the IP left fallow until competent directors/producers are brought on board.

Disney has indeed laid off many of the men and women who comprised their small 2D animation department. One of the more famous of these men who is still as of yet employed is Eric Goldberg whom some of you might know from - well - any Disney film made during its second renaissance.

Battle Los AngelesI just saw Battle Los Angeles last night. This was truly the greatest, most saintly perfect alien invasion movie I have ever seen. It sanctified my television through the mere act of transmitting its impeccable majesty.
The armed forces are competent.

No, the guy who made the movie was not right. He used freedom of speech as an excuse to make a film that was most likely intended to enrage an entire portion of the world population, seemingly for no other reason than to enrage them.

SOME, Muslims use their religion to justify their actions, not all. Blanket descriptions about millions of people are part of the problem. What happened in Egypt was certainly not right, but the response should not be "they ALL do this" or "they’re ALL bad". The bad apples should be dealt with HARSHLY, but only the bad apples.
