Everyone's used to politicians badmouthing each other and highlighting flaws in their opponents to try and belittle them in front of the eyes of the public.
In my little corner of the world, things like fraud and corruption regularly bubble to the surface, usually by way of the media. The police investigate and the offending politician is, more often than not, destroyed. Possibly literally, as they're not usually heard from again, but more likely because the parties distance themselves from the offending moron, who was stupid enough to misbehave while the public gaze was upon them.
The parties use incidents like that to discredit their rivals and question their abilities to govern.
Occasionally an irrelevant element of a politician's personal life will crop up as the focus of a jibe, but it's never seen as anything more than that. Using, say, a harmless hobby to try and smear someone in Parliament would be seen as monumentally petty.
"Petty" is not a word American politicians seem to have an understanding of.
Currently one of the candidates in the state senate race for New England is being attacked by her rivals for engaging in what they see as an evil and perverse pastime. A practice that they believe reflects one's personality and ambition with such clarity that we should see those who engage in it stripped of power altogether.
Good lord, what does she do? Watch snuff films? Practice witchcraft? Play "kitten football"?
No. She plays Warcraft. As an orc.

I'm really not sure I'm comfortable with the idea of Republicans being given charge over a pair of scissors, let alone the world's best funded military force (again). If you guys wanna switch Prez; it's no business of mine, but can you put a party with a greater grip on reality in charge? Please? You've got plenty of smart, sane people there. Give one of them a shot!

DevArt goes full evil.
I’m not going to rail about how material on the site is being scraped for use in AI Composites, or about how DevArt’s “protection” against it is a new check-box that you will have to manually tick for each and every image you’ve uploaded. No. Misuse of your work and DevArt incompetence are expected at this point. Once something is put online, that’s it; it’s no longer under your control. That’s the nature of the beast. You don’t like it; don’t upload content. What I am furious about is the deluge of AI composites flooding my feed, here. I see more of that crap than genuine new content, now. And to make it worse, DevArt has its own AI tool (https://www.deviantart.com/team/journal/Create-AI-Generated-Art-Fairly-with-DreamUp-933537821) which, while they absolutely-pinky-promise it will not cannibalise user content, is only going to exacerbate the problem. I’m now completely convinced that DevArt is no longer a site that serves artists in any capacity. Not only that; it no longer has any
Werewolf Wednesday Artbook
I've returned to Lulu as their print quality has dramatically improved. The first thing I'm peddling through their service is a collection of my Werewolf Wednesday pinups. (I was legitimately blown away by the quality of the proof copy I ordered!) It's now available here.
Password Retrieval emails.
Is anyone else getting a "Password Retrieval" email from DeviantArt over and over again? I was concerned that there was a security issue at play but I see that there's an option in settings to STOP such emails for 60 days, which itself is weird. Why would THAT be needed? What the hell is going on with the platform NOW?

My thinking is that we could stand to get rid of both major parties, especially the idiots on The Hill right now.
They sicken me.
