I believe that, for something to be labelled "explicit", SOMETHING must be visibly going in SOMEWHERE. Such was not the case in the offending image,

Ego vs tirednessThe other day a friend told me that he meet an artist he liked in a con in san diego, and he said to me that he was a real douchebag. I replied to him, does he was all day signing to a lot of people at the both?, did he had pain in his back?, do you catch him running like crazy to the bathroom and you wanted to tell him the story of your life? Did you interrupt him talking to a friend he havent seen in 8 years? When you were talking to him the line was big so he interrupt you to give minutes to the person you didnt see at your back? Did he was sick and taking pills at the booth? Did he receive a call that he wont get paid and got mad? Did a close family member died recently and he just wants to be alone and shows no interest in your talking about Dragon Ball?

Silent Hill: RevelationWow. And I thought the first Silent Hill film missed the point.
I was surprised that a sequel was made at all, given the rather poor narrative (and acting. That kid was almost as bad as the brat from Phantom Menace) of the first movie, but in comparison with Revelation, it was positively Shakespearian.
If there's a third film in the franchise, I'll be amazed (to a point. We have had, what is it, 5 Resident Evil films, now?)
How hard is it to wrap your head around the concept, Film-Makers? Silent Hill has no face, it has no agenda, it's just an evil f**king mirror that reflects your personal demons. It's the perfect vehicle to use different actors to tell different stories with each and every film. It's potentially the James Bond of horror set-ups. Play it right and you could get 50 films out of it, easy.
You devolve it into a generic, fun-fair, ghost-train and you're pissing away the concept with such force you blow a hole in the lavatory wall.

Basically it allows you to sell your artwork and products such as brushes, stock photos.. well whatever, via DA using the points system to earn real money ... eventually. So, the way it goes is that you upload your high res art file via sta.sh and then offer it for download. A person who wants to buy it, pays you in DA points for which you can then get converted into paypal money (after 14 days) and eventually you can access via paypal into real money in your bank account.... sounds great huh?!!
Ok, now lets consider the fees and costs of this thing..
First off a 20% cut is VERY VERY high. I've done some looking around and other art sales sites take a 3 - 10% commission... not 20.

Rediscovering the Original Vision of DungeonCrawl!I have finally figured out what has been bugging me about DungeonCrawl group. I just sat and thought about it for a long while this morning. Then it hit me! In my soul the original intent for DungeonCrawl was for members and guests visiting the galleries to have a sense that they are descending into a dark labyrinthine dungeon environment. That is why deviations depicting "non-dungeon" environments were bugging me so bad and just didn't seem to fit. I finally have a more clear understanding of how the group theme should be focused.
So here it is; deviations should depict a dungeon environment. Character and monster art should be set in a dungeon or at least have as neutral a background as possible. Deviations with an outside exterior environment as a major feature (forests, cityscapes, landscapes) will be politely declined. Maps and dungeon tiles should depict dungeon interiors. I will move distracting deviations (pictures of dice, gaming groups in session, arts and crafts)

When I Got Called Out For Bigotry on LivestreamThis is something I've been intending to write for a little bit, but I also wanted some time to pass so I could more coherently reflect upon it. I still wish I could maybe get a smidge more life experience to more eloquently piece this together. Sometimes its "problems", plural, but the consensus seems to be that the industry side of the equation is broken to some degree. And while I agree (and that's mostly what this blog is about), I've started to wonder if we are all talking about the same "problem". I've had the experience of seeing independent creators complain about the problems, in a way that I would initially agree with, but produce work that, to me, seems very indicative of what I had thought the problem to be. So I thought I would speak explicitly to what I thought the problem(s) are, and hopefully hear from others as well.

I Need HelpHi, everyone
I think many artists must be facing the same problem like me now. I found many mistakes in my drawings and a lack of professional drawing skills. I don't really know where I could hone my skills. It would be very kind of you if you guys could suggest me places like academy, atelier, etc. I found love of Western drawings and I don't mind where those places you suggest might be as long as they speak English. It also does matter of the money but I think I can find my way to solve this problem.

Working for Free!No I am not working for free, this is just my opinion on the matter.
For every paid job I am offered I am offered around 10 or more non paying jobs. I refuse any non paying jobs or ones that offer 'exposure'. The only two exceptions of working for free, for me, is if it's working for a charitable cause or if it's for family or a close friend.
So why you shouldn't work for free...
1. If you are serious about making art your profession working for free undermines the market and lowers not only yours but others talents and skills, not only in the present but compounds it for the future.
2. If a client knows they can get free work out of you then they have the chance to take advantage in the future.
3. So should I do it for exposure? Well first ask is this going to be in thousands of books or in a real prominent place on the web? If it is then you should be getting paid for it!
