You know that giddy, gleeful feeling that renders you incapable of doing little more than giggle like a lunatic?
I pretty much had that from start to finish during the Avengers film (Which was released on Fair Blighty's shores as "Avengers Assemble" thanks to the past efforts of Steed and Peel).
There have only been a handful of movies that invoked that kind of response in me: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Abram's Star Trek, Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes and the first Iron Man film are those which immediately spring to mind.
Indeed; Avengers is THE best Marvel movie since Iron Man. Ace cast, brilliant story, hysterical script, a scene that will stab anyone that's followed the films leading up to this point right through the heart and a fair few more surprises.

Chief among them being; how the hell did the Hulk become such a f**king awesome character after so many naff films?

I'm gonna go see this one again!

I saw it twice in one day, its that brilliant. Its about time Joss Whedon got to have this kind of recognition, he's done absolutely brilliant with this franchise. His brand of comedy & interaction, balanced with his style of D&M moments worked beautifully, and none of the cast were out of character. F*ckin' Fantastic!

I heard tell on twitter the other day that a lot of folk would love to have Joss working on the Deadpool movie thats coming out in 2014. Could you imagine it? Deadpool/Ryan Reynolds with Joss Whedon's snappy one-liners? Sheer, laugh out loud, rolling in the aisles, brilliance.

Perhaps the Hulk is one of those characters who can't quite manage a film on their own but thrives given a little company.

Imperfect-Chaos Featured By Owner May 9, 2012
Seen it 3 times now and it hasn't gotten old yet. The audience always, ALWAYS laughs the most at that one scene though.

You know the one. ;)

I'm really hoping that the Hulk will be able to get another movie after this.

Hulk vs Loki= best scene. God, I could not stop laughing.
WickedPrince Featured By Owner May 9, 2012
I am sure after the various Hulk fiasco's they had to go out of their way to make sure people LIKED him in this. ;)

God I gotta get my agoraphobic arse out the door and to a theater to see this. :D

Marvel's had quite a few really good films since they started up their movie franchises. The first two X-Men films... the first two Spider-Man films... Captain America... shame The Fantastic Four series turned out mediocre.

I went and saw it for myself, and I have to say that you never seem to be wrong. Funny that you mentioned Pirates, because this movie reminded me a bit of that, with how it had action, scary moments, and plenty of humor. Not only that, but Tony Stark's a bit like a super hero Jack Sparrow in this.
Phantasim-Fan Featured By Owner May 4, 2012
I actually thought Hulk was at his best in his second solo film.

Seems like they really gave the Hulk some fan love'n in the movie. I remember how Captain America tells Hulk to Smash in the trailer XD.

Looking forward to the film this year.

My god...I live on the Pacific Coast, so I have to wait until Thursday so I can see the midnight showing...and I can hardly wait. I'm amped up for it...and I'm going to have drunk enough Amp during that entire day to last me almost four days.

Thank goodness you said the film was great. From your first paragraph, I thought you meant it was so bad, it was funny.
Cenaris Featured By Owner May 1, 2012  Hobbyist General Artist
There wasn't a single bad thing about that movie. Hulk especially is awesome!

But I do wonder how the mk7 will evolve for the rumoured "Extremis" storyline for IM3.

Hulk made the movie for me ... Loki "kneel before me puny huma..." [link]

This movie explodes with awesome - it is undoubtedly the best superhero movie ever... The only thing that could have made this better is more Natalie Portman.

This film struck me right into my childhood, puberty and current "adulthood".
Its one of the few films I would still buy, instead of just waiting for it to pop up on cable tv.

AUGH. Have to wait for it still here. . . .

Honestly, it's a change. Most films get released for the US weeks before UK, even ones made in the UK. Remember Super8? it took best part of 4 months after the US release for us to get it, at which point everything had been spoiled.

They need to start doing simultaneous global releases. Staggering them only encourages piracy where people in unreleased areas try to watch films before it's ruined for them.

I completely agree!! Fantastic movie, but best of all the hulk became a... HULK! Not some cry baby, he just wanted to SMASH!! I thought they did that well compared to his other movies. I thought it was a great movie all round.

Man, this movie was totally AWESOME! Probably the best movie I've ever seen! I want to see it again! And again!! AND AGAIN!!! Hulk was so cool and hilarious! Some people even clapped on that scene with Hulk and Loki at the end of the movie! It was so awesome!
These days I was thinking which movie is my favorite, and I didn't find an answer. After this movie, I finally found an answer.
MacKenzieX Featured By Owner Apr 30, 2012
I want to go see it just because of the commercial where Stark is talking to Loki.

Stark: You've got an army? We have the Hulk.

And Tony is just so freaking calm about it! lol!

Well I,m happy you gave it a good review, because honestly I thought it was going to be a REaaaaaaaaaaaaally sucky movie with mass of explosions and CGI's and shit like *cough* Transformer of shit *cough*. But if you tell me it isn't the case, then I'm really glad! :D
Tharalin Featured By Owner Apr 30, 2012
I agree.
And I SO want to see it a second time, though I wish they would have released a 2d version too...3d is so expensive.

was a BRILLIANT film... sooo funny

the only thing that bugged me....and pls tell me if its just in malta or not.... when something brilliant or funny happened... people started to clap -__-

omg how it bugs the hell out of me!!! wtf r they doing it for...AND i missed two major lines cos of the idiots!!! (cos once someone starts others join in, drowning actors voices out)

i missed what Stan Lee said aaaaand the only line Hulk said!!!!!!!!!!!! can u believe it!?!?!?

so pls...can anyone remember their lines??????????????? (even though in a few weeks i may go watch it again)

AAAND....did you watch the easter egg after the credits??? WHO IS HE??? the character/baddie????
DeiveEx Featured By Owner Apr 30, 2012  Hobbyist Digital Artist
I agree with you, It was BRILLIANT!
I watched the movie with subtitles(I'm brazillian), this way I can hear the original voices AND know what they are saying even when people claps(And they clapped).

And I remember the lines!(It was so incredible that I even remember the lines lol)
Stan Lee said: "Superheroes in New York?" so he laughts.
And If I'm not wrong, Hulk said it at the end of the movie, didn't he?
He said: "Puny god", If I'm not wrong!
