I've found that drawing exagerated muscle stuff like this is actually rather good practice for rendering muscle structure in general, which I still feel I'm rather weak at. There was a sketch project I was working on a couple of years back that featured nothing but this kind of thing. I really should pick that up again. It was a useful exercise.
