There are quite a few people saying that the US is going to become a fascist, white-supremacist state now that Trump has won. While I do think his presence will embolden some bigots (in just the same way as the Brexit vote did here in the UK), I don’t think things will go quite that far.
The border wall he said was going to be built is unlikely to materialise. There’s already chatter from the Trump camp of it being a “virtual wall” rather than a physical one (something to stop or hinder cash-flow, not people) so the promise can be “fulfilled” and hopefully avoid cries of “bullsh*t!”
My main concern is what Trump is going to do in regards to Russia. If I had to put money on it, I’d say he’s going to take the route of appeasement. He’ll see it as the easiest option, and will pretend (or delude himself into thinking that) he has calmed the situation, but will have actually made it worse. It will mean that Russia gets away with a land-grab.
It’s a bit too 1938 for my liking. Britain looking the other way while part of Czechoslovakia was annexed did not lead to better things, and history has a nasty habit of repeating itself when people start ignoring the wider world around them….
Christ on a bike.....and I thought Nigel Farage had the world's most punchable face.....

DevArt goes full evil.
I’m not going to rail about how material on the site is being scraped for use in AI Composites, or about how DevArt’s “protection” against it is a new check-box that you will have to manually tick for each and every image you’ve uploaded. No. Misuse of your work and DevArt incompetence are expected at this point. Once something is put online, that’s it; it’s no longer under your control. That’s the nature of the beast. You don’t like it; don’t upload content. What I am furious about is the deluge of AI composites flooding my feed, here. I see more of that crap than genuine new content, now. And to make it worse, DevArt has its own AI tool (https://www.deviantart.com/team/journal/Create-AI-Generated-Art-Fairly-with-DreamUp-933537821) which, while they absolutely-pinky-promise it will not cannibalise user content, is only going to exacerbate the problem. I’m now completely convinced that DevArt is no longer a site that serves artists in any capacity. Not only that; it no longer has any
Werewolf Wednesday Artbook
I've returned to Lulu as their print quality has dramatically improved. The first thing I'm peddling through their service is a collection of my Werewolf Wednesday pinups. (I was legitimately blown away by the quality of the proof copy I ordered!) It's now available here.
Password Retrieval emails.
Is anyone else getting a "Password Retrieval" email from DeviantArt over and over again? I was concerned that there was a security issue at play but I see that there's an option in settings to STOP such emails for 60 days, which itself is weird. Why would THAT be needed? What the hell is going on with the platform NOW?

Trump feels this way because as far as he's concerned it doesn't really affect him or anyone else here in the USA. *Puts on Trump Goggles* I mean why should it? Russia is soooooo far away? Why should we care if they gobble up a country or two? They happier Putin is, the less trouble he's gonna give me! *Removes Trump Goggles and cringes*
But yeah, he's looking at the short term and what's going to make his loyalists happy. And never mind the knock-on effects this is going to have. Trump might think this is fine and dandy, but just wait until Putin wants to start taking bites out of the EU itself. God forbid Putin try to take Estonia or Latvia, but I really wouldn't put it past him.
Forgive me, but I'm gonna be a little more US-Centric now.
Honestly, I'm a lot more concerned about Trumps picks for his cabinet. A climate change denier in the EPA? A man that does not believe in raising the minimum wage in the Department of Labor? A crony of the oil tycoons in the Department of the Interior?
In four years, I don't think there's even going to be an America left for anyone to worry about our foreign policies.
